Tianma Road Project(Xiamen,China)
Project Date: March of 2018
Project Location: Xiamen, China
Project Scope: Underground Infrastructure
Total Construction Area: 4 km (~ 2.49 miles)
Project Overview:
Tianma Road is located in the northern part of Xiamen and it is an important traffic artery, with a total length of 4 km (~ 2.49 miles). Numerous underground pipelines of various types in this section have been buried for a long time. During the maintenance and renovation process, it was often found that the actual positions of the pipelines did not align with the recorded locations, resulting in challenges such as lengthy processes and high costs.Bimodeling leveraged the MALA MIRA 3D ground-penetrating radar for underground pipeline detection to gather information on the municipal comprehensive pipelines. This technology achieved 3D data collection for various pipelines buried at depths of up to 5 meters (~ 16.40 ft) and with diameters greater than 24 mm (~ 0.94 inch). The underground pipeline detection on the roads can range from 20,000 m2 to 50,000 m2, equivalent to 215278.21 sq ft to 538195.52 sq ft.
Project Details:
After Bimodeling collected the relevant comprehensive pipeline data, it could generate a 3D model using the software, converting the actual scene into 3D data. The high-precision positioning and reverse modeling processes ensured the pipeline model aligned closely with the actual buried area, while reproducing the layout of valve areas, manholes, and other adjacent pipelines.
